The Louvre

The Musée du Louvre is the world's most visited art museum, a historic monument, and a national museum of France. Nearly 35,000 objects from the 6th millennium BCE to the 19th century CE are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square metres.

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a triumphal arch is located on the Place du Carrousel, just to the west of the Louvre.

Antoine, our guide from the morning bus tour offered to take us on a guided tour of the Louvre. He is a very intelligent and articulate man and a perfect example of an arrogant Frenchman. As we spent more time with him he lightened up a tiny bit and after our tour finished he was very helpful to direct us to our next destinations.

Finally, a little blue sky!
