Friday Night Lights Results
The Friday Night Lights game had a lot of scoring and had quite a few outbursts of fisticuffs - the best bout was between the two starting goailes.
There was a group of spectators who claim they are a drinking team with a hockey problem and they will "cheer for beer" - but in this shot they seem to be chatting more than cheering as Jeff skates by.

Stay Tuned for Summer Hockey Session
Brandon and Shawn will be letting everyone know about the upcoming summer session at IceSports. The next session will start either May 4th or 11th.
There is drop-in on the IceSports schedule for tonight at 8:20 to 9:20pm and next Sunday night 6:40 to 7:10pm (only a half hour?). It would be recommended to call the rink to confirm before going out there.

Tournament Results
Geez, what a surprise that Meineke won the Upper Novice division. The Wichita Average Joes won our Middle Rec division and the Cyclones were shut out 0-5 by the Wichita Lucky 7s in the championship game of the Lower Rec division.
The Rusty Blades ended up in third place in the Lower Novice division and had a total of 11 goals scored against them - which isn't too bad when you think we had 10 against scored against us and we had a regular size goalie.

Busy Weekend
Saturday was a long day for Shawn and Beth - they started out the day by driving to Columbia, Missouri and then Shawn competed in the Shakespeare's Pizza MaxTrax Duathlon Long Course (3 mile run/15 mile bike/3 mile run).
Way to go Shawn! - He ended up 18th overall and 5th in his division. Quite an accomplishment after playing in our game on Friday night and just getting back from his trip to Chile.
And then Shawn and Beth drove back and Shawn played in the evening tournament game - and Beth stayed to watch the game. In addition to Beth, we had Paul's wife, Deb and Big Jim's family in the stands - so it was good that we won and put on a good show for our fans.
Thanks Shawn and Adrian for coordinating and getting everything and everyone together for the tournament - it was a fun weekend.

Saturday Evening Game
The game Saturday Evening was against Klem and the Red Rockets. We finally won a game and Shawn received the pelt for his shut out.
In addition to having "outside" beer we also had an "outside" visitor in our locker room. The rumor is that she had been making the rounds to all the different locker rooms during the tournament. (She really is a hockey whore!)

Royals Home Opener
The Royals Home Opener was Tuesday and I joined a group of friends for tailgating and the game at the "K". The renovations to the stadium include the new scoreboard - it is the ultimate large screen tv.
The rain earlier in the day did not hinder the gang from tailgating.
The rain stopped in time for the game. The Royals won and fun was had by all.
